T & T Ranch - Offering Organic Chicken & Duck Eggs for Las Vegas

Due to recent unforeseeable loss of our entire production flock, we will no longer be selling either our chicken or duck eggs. We may offer organic eggs in the future when new flocks become available.

The T & T Ranch located near the center of the Amargosa Valley, Nevada. The ranch has a history dating back to the early 1900s, with a variety of agricultural products being produced continuously since the ranch was started.

The focus of the farm has evolved into producing organic eggs, produced with chickens and ducks fed with 100% organic soy-free, corn-free feed. Our chickens and ducks are orchard raised.

Free-Range Organic Eggs

Organic Eggs

These local organic eggs are produced on the T & T Ranch, located in Amargosa Valley, a 100-year-old community with a population of only 1,500 residents, which is located about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. The presence of the ranch supports the local agricultural economy of Amargosa Valley while providing local eggs to Las Vegas. These organic eggs come from heritage chickens, which are breeds recognized by the American Poultry Association prior to the 20th century and must be slow-growing, naturally mated, and able to live a vigorous life outdoors. Our breeds include Ameraucanas, Whiting True Blue, Rhode Island Red, Marans, and Leghorns.

The heritage chickens at T & T Ranch are fed peas, wheat, rye, barley, pistachio, and fresh greens, such as alfalfa and clover, which are all grown on-site. Each of our chickens enjoys a free range of our orchard outdoor space, compared to the industry standard of caged 0.8 sq. ft. per hen.

Each carton will have a mix of white, blue, cream, and brown eggs.

Conventional eggs are produced by hens fed a diet of mostly GMO corn which has 10% protein, but laying chickens need 16% to 20% protein. To boost the protein in standard poultry feed, most industrialized chicken farms add GMO soy and hydrolyzed feather meal, which are feathers collected from slaughterhouses.

While feeding feathers to chickens might reduce costs, we strive to produce eggs with regard to animal welfare, the environment, and the health of our customers. We will always strive to perfect our feed, currently, this is our recipe. Every ingredient is certified organic. Triticale, rice bran, wheat, barley, peas, milo, ground oyster shells, sunflower seed, alfalfa, oats, flaxseed, kelp, flavor (garlic, horseradish, star anise oil, juniper berry oil). Seasonally we feed fruits from our farm including pistachio, pomegranates, and apricots. Click here to read about the ranch and our egg production in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Why is corn bad for chickens?

Corn feed provides more than enough calories, which causes the inactive chickens to bulk up quickly, but it's too low in fatty acids and certain amino acids, vitamins and minerals for chickens to thrive.

Made without corn, our feed is ideal for flocks living in hot southern Nevada climates.

Why soy free?

The primary benefit of feeding our chickens soy-freefeed is that the eggs they produce (and that you eat) are less likely to contain allergens and elevated hormone levels associated with soy. The dangers of over consumption of soy are becoming more widely known.
